Grit blasting metal finishing is the removal of rust, surface contaminants and paint coatings from a metal substrate in readiness for Zinc Spraying and/or painting. Suitable objects include wrought iron railings, metal gates, garden furniture, car components, architectural metalwork such as window frames and radiators.
Some items may need to be unscrewed/taken apart to ensure all surfaces are exposed and properly prepared for grit blasting and zinc spraying and painting.
For Railing Panels, Gates, Garden Furniture, Car Components, Industrial Equipment
For smaller items such as Door and Window Furniture, Hinges, Tools, Brackets, Architectural Salvage Parts.
Zinc spraying is a highly effective anti-corrosion process where molten metal, usually Zinc or Aluminium, is bonded to the surface of a metal substrate. Flame Spraying will not cause warping or distortion, which can sometimes occur with Hot Dip Galvanising. Immediately before undertaking Flame Spraying, the surface must be degreased. Grit blasting will remove all surface contaminants and ensure maximum mechanical bonding. Following Flame Spraying the surface can be left unfinished or painted.
